Samsung was late to give last month’s security update to the Galaxy S20 FE. But, they are not making the same mistake this month. They are now giving the June 2024 security update to the device, which fixes 59 security problems.
June 2024 Security Patch Release
The big tech company from South Korea has given the June 2024 security patch to the Galaxy S20 FE. They are giving the newest security update to the US version of the smartphone, which has the model number SM-G781U. This update changes the phone’s software version to G781USQSGHXF1.
How to Get the Newest Software Update
Like you have been doing for the past few years, go to Settings » Software update » Download and install to get the newest software update. If you don’t see an update, you will have to wait a few days for Samsung to make it ready for your device. So, keep checking. If you don’t like waiting, you can go to our firmware section, type your phone’s model number, download the new firmware, and then install it.
Galaxy S20 FE’s Security Update Plan
Samsung started the Galaxy S20 FE 5G in September 2023 and promised to give security updates to the phone for five years. So, they should give regular security updates to the device until September 2025. Usually, as a device gets older, Samsung gives it fewer updates. It is good to see that the company has kept the Galaxy S20 FE on monthly security updates until now.
Getting a New Phone
If you are thinking about getting a new phone, the Galaxy S23 FE could be a great choice for you. But, if you wait a little while, you can get the Galaxy S24 FE, which is being made right now and should be ready in the next few months. That being said, if you are thinking about getting a top-of-the-line smartphone this time, you can’t go wrong with the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
