Customers try out Samsung’s new top fold-screen phone Galaxy Z Fold5. Samsung plans to make the cover and main screen of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 bigger. The South Korean company is also picking some trendy colors.
Famous smartphone insider Evan Blass has shared details on the basic colors of the foldable that will be sold in stores and the colors that will only be available on Samsung’s website. Five colors will be available for the top foldable: navy, pink, silver shadow, white, and crafted black.
The last two colors—white and crafted black—will only be available on Samsung’s website. Given that white and black smartphones are quite popular
A survey by PhoneArea showed that users’ favorite smartphone colors were black at 38.5 percent and white at 17.4 percent. That’s more than half of those asked. With Samsung keeping these colors for its own store, I can see a lot of sales happening through the company website, making Samsung the owner of the customer instead of a carrier or retailer.
This also increases Samsung’s profit on the device, and I think that will allow for more exclusive web-only deals.
Not only have details on the new colors been shared, we also know the US price of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. SmartPrix reports that Samsung will be adding $100 to the same Galaxy Z Fold 5 model; so the 256 GB model will cost $1,899, the 512 GB model at $2,019 and the 1 TB model at $2,259.
Customers may wonder what the $100 extra will give, especially if Samsung sticks with its choice of a camera that first appeared in the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and will now be in three generations of foldable phones.
The one good thing may be Samsung’s love for special deals and discounts that could easily cancel out the $100 extra, but they won’t be around forever. If you’re looking for the best deal with your new foldable phone, you will have to be quick.
During the pre-launch of the Galaxy S24 family, Samsung offered “double the storage”, where the 256 GB models were priced to match the 128 GB list price, the 512 GB model at the 256 GB price, and the 1 TB model at the 512 GB price. Samsung also offered discounts on various Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch accessories.
I’d expect to see a similar plan here, if not the exact same bundles as the more expensive Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to launch with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 at a Galaxy Unpacked event in early July.
