On June 24, OnePlus released a new budget smartphone called the Nord CE 4 Lite. This phone uses the Snapdragon 695 chip, which is three years old. This same chip was used in the Nord CE 2 Lite and Nord CE 3 Lite, which came out in the past two years. Even with the older chip, the Nord CE 4 Lite has many new and cool features.
Price and Availability
The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite costs Rs 19,999 for the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. There is also a version with 256 GB of storage for Rs 22,999. You can buy it starting June 27 on Amazon and the OnePlus website.
New Features
Even though it uses an older chip, the Nord CE 4 Lite has lots of upgrades:
- A 6.67-inch AMOLED screen that looks bright and smooth with a 120Hz refresh rate
- A 50 MP main camera that takes good pictures
- It is resistant to water and dust (IP54 rating)
- A headphone jack and stereo speakers for good sound
- A 5,500 mAh battery that charges very fast with 80W charging
Software and Apps
The phone uses OxygenOS 14, based on Android 14. It will get at least two major Android updates and three years of security updates. Unlike most OnePlus phones, this one has some pre-installed apps, but you can remove them if you want.
Comparison with Other OnePlus Phones
While the Nord CE 4 Lite has many new features, other OnePlus phones might be a better deal. For example, the OnePlus Nord 3, which costs less than Rs 20,000 on sites like Amazon and Flipkart, has:
- A better camera system
- A Mediatek Dimensity 9000 chip
- A bigger screen-to-body ratio
- The signature OnePlus alert slider
Conclusion
The OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite uses an older Snapdragon 695 chip but offers many new and improved features. However, you might find better value in other OnePlus models like the Nord 3, which offers more advanced features for a similar or lower price.
